Element Desktop Client (Electron)
Element Desktop (element-desktop.exe) is the Windows executable for the Element messaging client. Built on the Electron framework, it provides a desktop interface for Matrix-based chats, voice/video calls, file sharing, and end-to-end encrypted conversations. It runs background processes to sync messages and deliver notifications.
It launches the Electron main and renderer processes, handles API calls to the Matrix homeserver, stores local data in AppData, and uses Windows notification APIs to surface messages while maintaining real-time sync.
