BlueJeans Desktop Application
BlueJeansApp.exe is the Windows desktop component of the BlueJeans meeting client. It launches the BlueJeans UI, handles video and audio capture, and coordinates screen sharing during meetings. It also communicates with the BlueJeans service for authentication, invites, and feature updates, and may run in the background to stay ready for joins.
BlueJeansApp.exe runs as a multi thread process that creates media streams, uses Windows APIs to access cameras and microphones, and loads BlueJeans DLLs from its install folder. It negotiates signaling, renders the meeting interface, and keeps sessions synchronized with the cloud service.
BlueJeansApp.exe is a legitimate part of the BlueJeans Desktop App. It is digitally signed by BlueJeans Network, Inc., installed under Program Files, and uses encrypted channels to talk to the BlueJeans service. On authentic systems it does not exhibit stealth behavior or unsolicited data collection.
BlueJeansApp.exe is not a virus when obtained from the official BlueJeans installer. If the binary is found outside its expected location or without a valid signature, or if antivirus flags it unexpectedly, verify the source and perform a malware scan. Reinstall from BlueJeans if in doubt.
Red Flags: If BlueJeansApp.exe is unsigned, located in a temp or user profile folder, or named differently from BlueJeansApp.exe, treat as suspicious and reinstall the official BlueJeans Desktop App to restore trust.
Reasons it's running:
Yes, you can disable startup and background activity from the BlueJeans app settings or via Windows startup management. Disabling may stop automatic meeting join, quick launch, and some notification features. If you still need occasional access, consider manual launching instead of full disablement.
